The USA Network documentary Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and The Notorious B.I.G. has revealed a key detail into solving Tupac Shakur‘s tragic death, who was fatally shot on September 7, 1996 in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada, reports Billboard.
According to the TV confession, former gang member Keffe D (Duane Keith Davis), has admitted he was in the car when an associate fired on a BMW car carrying Tupac and Death Row Records boss Suge Knight.
Having made similar claims in another recent documentary with BET’s Death Row Chronicles, Davis had decided to come out with further details due to being diagnosed with cancer. “People have been pursuing me for 20 years, I’m coming out now because I have cancer, and I have nothing else to lose. All I care about now is the truth,” he said in the interview for BET’s Death Row Chronicles. “I was a Compton kingpin, drug dealer, I’m the only one alive who can really tell you story about the Tupac killing.”
Davis claims he was in the front passenger seat of the car while his cousin, Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson, was in the backseat of the vehicle carrying two other Southside Crips gang members, Terrence “T-Brown” Brown (the driver), and DeAndre “Dre” Smith sitting behind him. “Going to keep it for the code of the streets, It just came from the backseat, bro,” he says in Chronicles.
Unsolved creator and executive producer Kyle Long, had been calling for Keffe to face justice since May, and said a recent interview with The Wrap that “Certainly Keffe D and the Southside Crips killed Tupac Shakur. And it is outrageous that Keffe D is not in jail… In the [Unsolved] finale, when you see why the whole Keffe D thing, how he had immunity and that — long story short, in real life and in the television show, he had immunity to make this confession to the task force.”
